Any convention that encourages new players to participate is a good one no matter what the size. If everyone is having a good time then its a great con!Heislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-34489883298282586112013-07-03T07:08:37.560-06:002013-07-03T07:08:37.560-06:00Kris,
Just saw your blog. Its been a long time. ...Kris,
Just saw your blog. Its been a long time. Those are some massively talented painters. We have nothing like Genghis here in Kansas City. We do have a smaller con called Recruits, run at a high school. They only charge $5 to get in, and students attend free. Its what its name says, a way to recruit new gamers.
Bill McHargBillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17886933129961582137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-28856998476421276332012-03-11T18:03:17.402-06:002012-03-11T18:03:17.402-06:00That's one of my favorites tooThat's one of my favorites tooHeislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-43983077562936975012012-03-11T17:13:59.052-06:002012-03-11T17:13:59.052-06:00Ah, so awesome! All of these painters started in the place you are now. I would hazard to guess that most of these pieces, at least the silver and gold medal ones, took in excess of 20 hours to complete (I know mine did). I can't even imagine how long the Hussar piece took (that's the one with the four horsemen) especially since that is a 54mm piece so its significantly bigger than our more standard 28mm miniatures. I do have some serious talent in this area, two of my regulars have won GW slayer swords, but the great thing about it is that they want to teach others and share their techniques rather than hold everything in like a secret. I think that's almost a universal trait amongst the really great painters, a very real desire to share and teach how they do itHeislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-43231347530285894642012-03-11T09:41:48.839-06:002012-03-11T09:41:48.839-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Heislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-27278354255649046922012-03-11T04:51:41.987-06:002012-03-11T04:51:41.987-06:00You know I love that top picture. It's almost as hard as getting my own hair done, only much harder!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01681799401614263953noreply@blogger.com
