I know the first batch was sold off in 1984 and the second in 1987 but I thought they were retired from service in 1979.Heislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-20851554485601474802018-01-25T14:05:11.934-07:002018-01-25T14:05:11.934-07:00Kris,

I will have to dig through my photos to find them. It was like finding a rare gem when I saw it.Tim Kulinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15556960285841667223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-68496582695143336942018-01-25T10:50:49.657-07:002018-01-25T10:50:49.657-07:00I'm using CF7s as the motive power which sets ...I'm using CF7s as the motive power which sets it in the 70s. I think the Santa Fe retired all of those conversions by 79 and started selling them off in 84.
As I recall I used both pigments and oil based paints (primarily as washes) on the weathering. Since that time I have acquired a bunch of the Pan Pastels which are pigments in a more cake like form that are a lot easier to use than pigments straight out of bottle, I use those on almost anything I want to weather these days.Heislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16825061407797980077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4410167761570537191.post-1084665138674567172018-01-25T10:23:36.833-07:002018-01-25T10:23:36.833-07:00Kris, what time frame are you doing?
Nice work o...Kris, what time frame are you doing?

Nice work on the weathering, is it paint or pigments?

I am glad to see you getting back to some RR related stuff here on the blog. Like you I am working on my HO Layout based on Orange County in the 80's as well as gaming. So your giving me inspiration to get back to my own RR.Tim Kulinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15556960285841667223noreply@blogger.com
