Kickstarter Loot - Games and Gears Brushes

I have been waiting for these for sometime now, it was hard watching all the posts from people saying that I had received theirs. I have made a quick check of the brushes. I see one that has a a frayed point which I suppose isn't bad out of 23 brushes. I'll see if the point neatens up when I get it out of the package. I know I went in a little on the large side with untried brushes but I figure I can always just give them to the CMPA for classes if it comes right down to it. The ), 00 and 000 are a lot closer to the DaVinci Restauro brushes that I have. Nice points but no real belly to hold the paint will see how well those do in my climate.

I'm taking the claims of how fantastic these are with a grain of salt. I'll definitely give them a spin this weekend at the CMPA's 2nd Saturday workshop.

Here's a quick look at what I received.

    1. I have been getting those Reaper western minis ready to go. Looks like I'll be trying out the brushes on those very shortly.

    1. I certainly will. I tend to be a bit hard on my brushes at the best of times so we will see how these hold up. I'm looking forward to working with them and seeing how they compare to my DaVinci brushes.

  3. It's been a month, any update on how these brushes have performed for you?

    1. Well I haven't gotten much painting in during the last month. However, what I have used these brushes exclusively for what I have painted. They don't seem to hold a point very well and they don't spring back as nicely as my DaVinci brushes do. I feel like I'm fighting the brush every time I paint with it. I really wanted these to be good brushes but I just find them a little frustrating to work with. I have seen posts from people that say what they are doing to make the brushes perform better. But in the end I'm not going to change how I paint to suit the brush. The couple of brushes that I have used have stood up pretty well, I don't have stray hairs or anything like that happening. They just don't perform like a DaVinci, and I like the handles on the DaVinci brushes better. I'll see if I can't get a post up in the next week or so going into a bit more detail.
