Life Intervenes - Kitchen Renovation - The cabinet puzzle

After the floor was in there was dry walling and painting and cabinet installing. It all sounds like it goes very quickly but you would be very wrong! We were fortunate in that the guys doing the tiling were also installing the cabinets which gave them a heads up on different conditions in the kitchen that they would need to deal with.

Ready for the drywall. The weird cutouts are because of the way the original counter tops were installed.

What looks like an open window is actually the pass through to the dining room which will be going away.

And the patching begins

Drywall and painting done, cabinets coming into the house. The cabinets have been sitting in one side of the garage for at least a week now. Fortunately its a big garage, there are a lot of cabinets. The room is looking a little claustrophobic, the original window has been removed and the two new ones haven't been framed in yet.

Cabinets starting to go into place. The island will be significantly bigger and provide more storage.

The first wall done is what we are calling the Butler's pantry.

Pull out shelves to fully utilized that 24" deep cabinet!

The hole in the ceiling had to be cut so that we could get the tall pantry cabinets up right! They were a bit to tall just to push into place and they came assembled as single units instead of two pieces.
