Truly no Old West town would be complete without a few outhouses. I ordered two packs from Gamecraft Miniatures. These were a fun little diversion, there is even some variety with three different doors to use. Just a fun little diversion. I also tried out one of my model railroad techniques to get that nice silvery gray wood color you see on unprotected wood. I like the technique but it came out a little streaky so I think I'm going to re-prime the building with an enamel based primer and see if I can get a smoother look to the surface. I also ordered some inks to use to feather into the silver gray color. Hopefully those will be here this week and I can start making some painting progress on the buildings.
Anywhere is a bunch of outhouses for your viewing pleasure. Oh and I worked on new bases tonight for the Citizens of Calamity so our favorite lady huckster will be getting a new base shortly.

Life is short, break the rules. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly. Love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that makes you smile. - Samuel Longhorne Clemens (Mark Twain)
wow that is a crapload of johns there! Thanks for showing these, just making me want to go rob a bank to buy all these cool buildings!
ReplyDeleteIts hard to have a town without them. Western towns were not known for their strict sanitation standards. :-)
DeleteThat's a lot of cra.......outhouses mate, madness but great madness!
ReplyDeleteCalamity is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I'm not sure I have enough outhouses now! There are 24 buildings waiting to be painted right now. I think I only have 1 more to build though. And then there is a new company that will be releasing kits in April and I could use a few more from Aetherworks, which means I'll probably need another pack of Outhouses!
