I got home late this evening so instead of heading down to paint I decided it would be easier to take pictures of another "Clue" game that is in my room. So next up is the Simpsons Clue game. This particular Simpsons edition comes in a metal tin. The tins are neat but I think I prefer boxes in the end. The tins don't stack well and seem to dent pretty easy. Prior to the Simpsons edition there had been a Limited Edition, and an Anniversary Edition published in the tins. I'll have to check publication dates but I'm fairly certain this one was published before the Disney Haunted Mansion tin and there are a couple of others that have been published in tins since this one.
The rules are the standard Clue rules which some subtle alterations. It takes place in Mr Burns' mansion and of course we are trying to figure out who shot Mr Burns. Homer is Mr Green, Marge is Mrs Peacock, Krusty the Clown stands in as Col Mustard, Lisa plays the sultry Miss Scarlet, Bart is Prof Plum and the oddest choice is Smythers as Mrs White, the maid. The rooms are all nods to the series and my personal favorite is the Android's Dungeon.

Life is short, break the rules. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly. Love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that makes you smile. - Samuel Longhorne Clemens (Mark Twain)

That's actually quite well done, I like the doughnut!
ReplyDeleteThey do a nice job on all the licensed versions. I really like the characters from this one.
DeleteMy kids have got a different version of Simpsons Cluedo than this.
ReplyDeleteI have three more boxed versions of the Simpsons I'm sure one will be a close match to what your kids have.
DeleteI have same Star Wars variations of many games and a few others, but my wife has kind of put a stop to my variation game buying.
ReplyDeleteFortunately that is not an issue for me right now! The Clue variation games go in cycles, I won't see anything new for like five years then suddenly they hit you with five or six at once. Fortunately I'm able to pick up most of them on Ebay so I'm not paying the ridiculous retail prices they want for them.
DeleteOur issue has more to do with space.
ReplyDeleteI understand that issue. I have been trying to free up space for years without much success!
